As part of the HTG Software Development team we need to stay up to date with the latest programming languages, security and trends if we’re to deliver on our objectives. As a result, training opportunities are continual and very necessary.
Learning and Development takes many forms in the HTG Software team and range from conferences to self-paced online learning. And there’s plenty of on the job learning. Right now we’re developing our database architecture and security skills so that we can deliver more services to help customers mine and report on their data. We also need to hone our business analysis service skills so we can help customers make sense of the information and then be able to pass on our knowledge to customers.
In the HTG Software team we like to tap into and develop individual skill sets and abilities. That way we have a diversity of knowledge that we can apply to new products, services and issues. With this approach, we’ve always got options for when new projects come up and our team members have opportunities to advance their careers. Our development program now also includes a commitment to technical learning by ensuring every member of staff has at least 10% of their working week dedicated to learning, research or development. That way, we’re always one step ahead.
Of course, we also have team and management training, which is mostly run internally. Plus we are naturally looking for new and exciting ways of doing things in our everyday jobs and expect each team member to share and collaborate in order to achieve results.
