Let’s take this back to when I first started with HTG in September 2016. I had just left my previous job and done a little bit of travelling (if you haven’t yet, I highly recommend you do). Once I had settled back in at home, I realised that it’s time to find a job that actually makes me want to wake up and go to work, challenges me daily and helps me develop and grow in the field I’m working in.

I was referred to HTG by a friend who said she loves their values and the way they treat each other like family. I submitted my resume that night for a job at the Business Centre, my anticipation was high but not long after that I had my interview and joined the HTG family! I had never worked in a company that invests so much time into training their new staff in just the first two weeks!

Centre Customer Service in Telstra Business

After a few months in the Business Centre I realised that it wasn’t the role for me. The great thing with HTG is that if you fit the values and the culture they’ll help you find the perfect role for you within the company. I was very lucky to be offered a position in Retail and absolutely love it.

I’m one of the two effective floor managers at the Telstra Burleigh store. Our role is to ensure that every customer has a welcoming experience when first entering the store. We provide them with wait times so they have an understanding of what to expect, which is dependent on the foot traffic of the day. We try to keep the floor running as efficient as possible by keeping in touch with consultants and helping one another by any means necessary.

What I love about HTG is that they recognise and reward their staff for a job well done. I had recently won the EFM award for the quarter and I felt as if my dedication and hard work hadn’t gone unnoticed and to be honest it felt great!

Coming from a small store which means a small team, makes me feel like my colleagues are family. Knowing when I arrive to the store that everyone will be smiling and laughing makes me enjoy going to work.
